Boot Camp For New Dads – a focused father-to-father workshop

Boot Camp for New Dads is a unique father-to-father, 4-hour workshop focused on the first six months of baby’s life. It equips fathers-to-be to become confidently engaged with their infants, support their mates, and personally navigate their transformation into dads. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet other dads who are also experiencing first time fatherhood. Cost: $40

Nurturing Parenting – English and Spanish

Court-approved parenting classes

Nurturing Parenting is a court-approved, family centered approach to building parenting skills and practices. This fun, interactive program offers parenting techniques that work in today’s complex world.

Nurturing Parenting consists of five two-hour classes covering:

  • Philosophy and practices of Nurturing Parenting
  • Building self-worth in children and praising children
  • Enhancing positive brain development in children and teens
  • Communicating with respect and understanding feelings
  • Positive ways to deal with stress and anger as parents

WHERE: Northridge Elementary, 1200 19th Ave, Longmont 80501
WHEN: Tuesdays, January 19, 26; February 2, 16, and 23
TIME: 6:00 – 8 p.m.
COST: $15 (scholarships are available)

Childcare and snacks will be provide

Young Moms Group

Front Range Young Mom's Group|Boulder County teen parenting|Children First Of The Rockies

Young Moms Group for teen parents

The Young Moms Group is a 10-week support/skill-building group offered in collaboration with Children and Youth Resources (Longmont Youth Center) for expectant and new moms, ages 25 years and younger.

The Young Moms Group provides a fun, supportive environment for the participants to discuss the challenges of being teen parents and learn about valuable community resources. Education is provided on the following topics: child development, responsible parenting; sexual health and healthy relationships; child safety; life skills; and stress management. Dinner and childcare are provided each week.

Parents Involved In Education – English and Spanish

Parents Involved in Education (PIE) is a collaboration to provide Latino parents with the tools to support the health of their kids and to increase parent involvement in the St. Vrain Valley School District. Involved Parents = Successful Children.

Evening Sessions

When: Wednesdays, 6 – 8 p.m.
January 18 – What’s Next? Exploring career and educational options for families.
February 15 – The Bullied, Bully, and Bystander. Understanding the bullying culture and taking action.
March 15 – Weathering the Storm. Understanding emotions, triggers, and trauma.
April 12 – Body, Brain, Savvy. Supporting the whole child.
April 26 – Celebration and Keynote.

Childcare and dinner provided.

February 7 – Today’s children, tomorrow’s future. The importance of early education and how to take action.

April 4 – Nutrition. Eat Well Be Well. Easy, affordable, and nutritious tips for the family.
